Organist Needed

April 19th, 2018

Priestfield Church is located on Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh not far from the Commonwealth Pool. We have a membership of 120 and our Sunday morning worship is attended by 70 people on average. We are an out-going and welcoming congregation.

Our present Church Organist leaves us in Summer 2018 because she is moving to Wales and we are keen to hear from organists who might be interested in applying for the post. The start date is 1 September 2018, or soon after.

We have a small but committed Choir with an able and encouraging Leader. Our organ is a two-manual electronic Allen and we also use a Roland digital keyboard.

While we would prefer to appoint an individual Church Organist we would be happy to discuss the possible appointment of ‘job-share’, part-time or flexible term applicants.

Applications are also welcome from trainee or student organists and consideration will be given to providing assistance with training.

The main duties of the Organist at present are:

Sunday services at 10.30am

Choir practices (September to May/June) – weekly on Thursday evenings, 6.00 – 7.30pm, and prior to Sunday morning services

‘Praise and Prayer’ – on alternate Thursday evenings, 7.30 – 9.00pm.

The salary is negotiable around the scales recommended by The Scottish Federation of Organists.

In the first instance please contact (preferably by email):

Angel Trail at Cameron Toll Shopping Centre

December 13th, 2017

This year Priestfield Church has organised an Angel Trail at Cameron Toll Shopping Centre. This can be followed from 11th-21st December.
If you follow the instructions in the accompanying leaflet and find all the angels in 11 shops you will also know the message the angels bring to the shepherds.
Then take your leaflet when it is filled in, to the Sainsbury’s Customer Service Desk and they will give you a small present.
