13 May – Cora, my second baptism!

May 18th, 2012

On 13 May Cora Hilliard was baptised in Priestfield Church. She was glad when it was over! Let’s pray for her parents, Adam and Dion, and her grandparents, Stuart and Jackie, as they seek to bring her up within the Christian Faith.

Caitlin – My first baptism at Priestfield – 22 April

April 22nd, 2012

It was such a joy today to celebrate my first baptism at Priestfield after nearly three years! Caitlin Symington was on her best behaviour and it was lovely to have friends and relatives from Ireland, England and Scotland to share the occasion with us.

Tom’s Marathon – 22 April

April 22nd, 2012

This time last year our neice’s boyfriend, Tom Sheffle (Essex), was undergoing radical treatment for bone cancer. Today he ran the London Marathon in under 4 hours, raising around £8000 for bone cancer research in the process. As a congregation we prayed for Tom (on left in photo) and we’re so delighted that he has made such a recovery. Praise God.

27 November – Advent Sunday – back in the sanctuary.

December 2nd, 2011

Good News! The temporary work on the dry rot has been completed, the lounge has been painted and we are now woshipping back in the sanctuary. Thanks to those who worked so hard to get it ready, and to paint the lounge making such a difference.

September – the dreaded dry rot

September 13th, 2011

During the course of our redecoration – pictures of which will be published in due course – it was discovered that we have an outbreak of dry rot where some roof beams meet the north wall. This really bad news for us, but we need to do something about it before long.

At the moment the work is being examined and costed, but we need to think strategically of how we are going to deal with it and the proposed development of the lounge area. This is why we are holding our conference on 24 September. Pray that we will discern the right way for us to move forward.

9 May – New Noticeboard

May 10th, 2011

New Noticeboard

While our new noticeboard has been up for a we while now, Monday 9th May saw the arrival of the ‘basic info’ sections, specially printed and held to the board with small magnetic strips. It comes in three parts so that when we have one service at 10.30am we can pull out the service info section and replace it. We’re delighted that also means it’s easy to include info for the Korean Church who use our building on Sunday afternoons.
